History
The magazine has been published since 1993. Initially named "Leisure & Property" this was soon changed to "Central Algarve" to create a stronger local identity.
Target Reader
The magazine is only published in the English language and is aimed at the large number of international visitors and expatriate community. The magazine comprises a blend of entertaining articles coupled with lots of interesting information. One of its most sought after features is the large centre-fold map so that unfamiliar visitors can find their way around.
The magazine is always attractive, readable and, best of all, FREE. Anyone can pick up the magazine from 150 local distribution points, including most shops and restaurants, and this makes it by far the most accessible and popular publication in the area.
Editions and Distribution
There are 3 issues per year which we label: spring, summer and winter. These are published in Nov, Mar, Jul. Each issue has a print run of 25,000 copies. There are therefore 75,000 copies printed annually and these are distributed from around 150 locations, mainly the shops, restaurants and bars which are featured in the magazine.
The magazine has always been centred on Almancil, this town covers the Algarve's main luxury resorts which includes ''Vale do Lobo'' and ''Quinta do Lago''. When market conditions allow, a separate edition is published for the ''Vilamoura'' area which is approx 10km away.
Advertising
Advertisers like the magazine format. They can take display advertising space which is reinforced with directory entries in business listings. In addition, the advertisers exact location is indicated on a high quality A3 map. The map and listings are very useful and greatly improve the magazine's shelf life. Readers usually retain the magazine for a long time as an indispensable source of useful information and local contact details.
